Every August, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) celebrates National Health Center Week (NHCW) to spotlight America’s Community Health Centers. At Primary Health Network, we are proud to be a cornerstone in our communities, serving as a beacon of hope and strength. This year’s theme, “Past, Present, & Future” resonates deeply with our mission to enhance community well-being by being a long term cornerstone of our communities. NHCW is a perfect opportunity to honor the commitment of our dedicated staff and to celebrate how our health centers bring people together, connecting them with compassionate care and vital resources that impact more than 31.5 million patients across nearly 15,000 communities annually.

National Health Center Week 2025 | Focus Days

August 3rd | Celebrating 60 Years of Progress Day
We kick off National Health Center Week with a look back at the incredible history of health centers since their founding in 1965. From serving a handful of communities to now reaching 1 in 10 Americans, health centers have become a cornerstone of community health.

August 5th | Patient Appreciation Day
Patients are at the heart of health centers, and this day recognizes their role in shaping care delivery. We celebrate patient boards—a revolutionary model of governance where patients make up 51% or more of board members—and their contributions to the health center movement.

August 6th | Health Conditions Focus Day
Prevention and care health centers play a critical role in addressing acute and chronic conditions through prevention, early detection, and treatment. This day highlights efforts like vaccinations, cancer screenings, heart health, diabetes care, and managing chronic infectious diseases.

August 7th | Population Focus Day
Health centers serve patients of all race and ethnicities, in rural, urban, suburban, and mountain communities. This includes maternal and child health, adults, elders/ older adults, veterans, agricultural workers, and those experiencing homelessness, to name a few. This day celebrates health centers’ commitment to understanding the unique needs of their patients and communities, and providing quality, accessible care.
